Health, medical, and wellness information is the number one topic of misinformation spread across the internet, and it touches every focus area from politics and parenting to sports and travel. In this session, Dr. Panthagani will provide guidance and resources on the ever increasingly difficult question: Where can I find accurate health information I can trust?

How Comedy Helps Audiences Build Deeper Understanding of the News

News Creator Corps hosts a masterclass with Josh Burstein, an Emmy-winning video journalist, digital strategist, climate activist, and comedian-ist. Late night TV has delivered news through comedy for decades, and this workshop reveals how basic improv and standup tactics can be integrated into anyone’s writing or performing style. In this highly interactive workshop, participants will leave with a strong understanding of where comedy can be employed differently with monologues, man on the street videos, explainers, and sketches. This class is designed for content creators, journalists, community messengers, and anyone providing information to a community. Participants are encouraged to come with a concept or news story that could be workshopped live with Josh and fellow attendees.
