We’re building tools for parents of teens

Social media is a primary news source for people of all ages, but this is particularly true for young people. We know that mis- and disinformation proliferates on these platforms, becoming more difficult to distinguish for even the most savvy media consumers. Misinformation can have real consequences on how young people approach the world around them, making it more important than ever to offer young people the tools they need to assess facts, interpret information, and determine credibility. But, how exactly can we achieve all that?

That’s where we’d like your input.

News Creator Corps put together a short survey about teens and misinformation to help us determine what resources would best help parents and young people approach media literacy.

Teens look to their family and friends for input about the world around them, making parents key community messengers. We want to be a tool for you, offering the most helpful tips and tricks for educating your family about misinformation and protecting your kids online. To do that, we’re collecting information about how you do or do not talk to your kids about these topics, what areas are most concerning for you, what educational resources you’d be most likely to use, and more.

If you have a few minutes, please take our survey here. We can’t wait to hear from you.
